STAUNTON FIRST CHRISTIAN CHURCH

Staunton Christian Church is one of the oldest religious societies in Posey township. The original building, was erected in the year 1856, at a cost of about $800. 

 

On May 6, 1925, a fire totally destroyed the building but reconstruction began immediately.  The first meeting in this new church was held September 12, 1925 even though there were no windows or doors installed at the time. It was then dedicated December 6, 1925. This building is now our KAFE and services are held in the present sanctuary on the same property.

 

We encourage you to read through the attached History which covers the first 100 years. More will be added at a later time.  As you read through this history, the one thing that is very clear "God is good all the time....All the time, God is good!"
